About

I created this blog as a place where I can take my turn to share devotionals and my thoughts on a potpourri of subjects. Hence the name WJBsTurn. (In case you didn’t guess, my initials are WJB. :-))

This blog presents occasional, sporadic, musings on a potpourri of subjects by one who loves and follows Yeshua, the Jewish Messiah.  These musings cover many topics.  Some of my thoughts are in the process of refinement and may change over time.  I am not a theologian, so you should always follow best practice and judge my commentary/comments against respected authorities and that still small voice in your spirit.

Please note that I am not necessarily endorsing someone when I reference, quote, or otherwise share something they wrote.

About Me

My name is W. J. Borden, but just call me Bill. :-) I am a Gentile lover and follower of Yeshua (Jesus), the Jewish Messiah and, of course, His Father, my creator, and the creator of the Universe. I have been a follower of Yeshua since the early ‘70s when He saved me, my wife, and our marriage. (In 2020, we celebrated 55 years of marriage.)

The Lord has led me down many paths over the years. He has also allowed me to follow my own way at times. He has always protected me as I have traveled those paths and I can testify to events in my life where I can now see that He was orchestrating things in my life even before I acknowledged Him as my Savior and Lord.

Over 10 years ago, the Lord led my wife and me to a conference at which we started learning about the Jewish people and the nation of Israel. Our interest was piqued and we started reading recommended resources and attended additional conferences. Through this, He created a love for the Jewish people that we never had before. We also relearned much of what we had been taught in the denominational Christian churches we had attended up to that time. I’m not saying that everything we’d been taught was wrong, but when you start learning the real meaning of Yeshua’s teachings from a Hebraic perspective, Scripture comes even more alive. I hope to be able to convey the importance of the Jewishness of Yeshua in my posts as well as providing some content related to the roots of our faith.

I plan to share highlights of my past walk from time to time but because there is a page devoted to a mission trip to Ecuador, I will add that I have made around 20 one-week mission trips to the Guayaquil area of Ecuador. The Ecuador page will provide a taste of what some of these trips have been like. Earlier trips involved church building construction and medical clinics, but we won’t go into all that now.

BTW, you’ve probably noticed that I use “Yeshua” instead of “Jesus.” While I use them interchangeably, I lean toward “Yeshua”. You can read my reasoning on the Glossary page.
