A Travesty of Justice

Where are the Believers?  As you may, or may not know, on February 16, the Washington State Supreme Court ruled 9-0 against religious liberty—ruling instead in favor of a false claim of discrimination.  Their ruling will probably cause florist Barronelle Stutzman, a 72-year old grandmother, to lose everything.  More importantly, they have taken away her constitutionally protected right to religious freedom and undermined that same right for all American citizens.

This and much of what is going on in American Society today does not make sense at all!  These actions are, as Dr. Brown says, “a breathtaking abuse of power, an extreme overreach by the government, a shocking example of LGBT activism out of control.”

These cases are, in reality, the first steps to our loss of religious liberty!  Where are the protests by those who call themselves followers of Yeshua—who claim to follow and stand for the precepts of the Word of God?  Why aren’t the corporate church and synagogues speaking out from the tops of their “steeples” about the injustice done by the courts?  Why aren’t you and I, and many thousands, peacefully protesting outside the “halls of justice” in our cities?  Why aren’t we flooding social media with statements of outrage?  Why aren’t we flooding the mailboxes of our congressional representatives with letters/emails demanding something be done to stop these types of rulings?  Because we are too lazy, too complacent, too content to live in our “ivory towers,” or too afraid of the repercussions should someone learn that we are strongly opposed to such actions!  This is a travesty of justice that must be corrected!  As Dr. Brown points out, we are watching our fundamental liberties be trashed before our eyes and we do little or nothing about it!

Please read the article by Dr. Michael L. Brown.

Until next time…May the LORD bless and protect you…May He give you Shalom.” (Numbers 6:24-26)
