Teaching Prejudice
Did you know that your children are racist? President Joe Biden’s administration says they are and wants to fix them. The U.S. Department of Education is preparing to advocate the idea that America is systemically racist and anyone who thinks differently, children included, are part of the problem — whether the students know it or not.
This is an important read for anyone with children in public schools or who has friends with children in public schools. We also need to contact our legislatures at both state and federal levels to block this move. For more details see this article.

Shame…Shame…Shame

Shame . . . Shame . . . Shame
The end of last week, just prior to Christmas Eve and the start of Hanukkah, the United Nations Security Council performed a shameful act. They had the audacity to believe they had the right to prohibit Israel from building homes for Jews in their own land. I say again and with emphasis – shame . . . shame. . . shame!
The Resolution adopted by the U.N.S.C. claims that Judea, Samaria, and East Jerusalem are “Occupied Palestinian Territory.” Let us look at the truth of our Lord God’s Word concerning this land. Genesis 15:18 says, “On the same day The Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying: ‘to your descendants I have given this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the River Euphrates.'” There is no Palestinian territory and there never has been. The land belongs to our Lord God of Israel, Jerusalem is the City of David, and the Temple Mount is the Mountain of The Lord.
Will this equation ever change? No! Jeremiah 31:35-36 says, “Thus says The Lord, who gives the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and the stars for a light by night, who disturbs the sea and its waves roar,’ if those ordinances depart from before Me,’ says The Lord, ‘then the seed of Israel shall also cease from being a nation before me forever.”‘ Only if the functions of the sun, moon and the stars were eliminated by God who created them would the land of Israel cease to exist. Judea, Samaria, and East Jerusalem are part of the land of Israel!
Will there be God’s judgment and even curses for those who created and voted for this resolution? Yes! In Genesis 12:3 when God is establishing His covenant with Abram and his descendants He says, “I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you.” Obadiah 1:15 says, “For the days of The Lord upon all nations is near; as you have done, it shall be done to you; your reprisal shall return upon your own head.”
This week and next week many of God’s people make commitments concerning areas of their lives which they would like to change as they enter the new calendar year. I personally have committed to pray more earnestly than ever before for our Lord God to protect and maintain the land of Israel for His covenant people. I trust you will do the same!

How Do You Survive the Annual Christmas/Chanukah Holiday Budget Drain?
My suggestion, in short, is to set a total budget amount that you can afford, then save, save, and save some more. When you start shopping, stick to the budgeted amount and pay cash. Most of us can scrape up $10, 25, or maybe even $100 for a gift for one person during the year, but for even the small family, the annual December gift-giving-peak can be a strain if not planned for. If you haven’t saved in advance, I strongly recommend setting a total budget you can afford out of current income/savings, but not out of your emergency fund. This is not an emergency! And then, as soon as the holidays are over, start saving for next year. But, how do you accomplish this?

Are You Living in the “Right” or “Wrong” Sukkah?
Are You Living in the “Right” or “Wrong” Sukkah?
A “sukkah” is a temporary hut or booth. It is normally associated with the Feast of Tabernacles, though the word does appear elsewhere in Scripture to refer to actual booths (e.g. Jonah 4:5) and the House (dynasty) of David (Amos 9:11). Our bodies and our life in Yeshua (Jesus) can also be likened to a sukkah because Earth is only our temporary dwelling place.
Jonah’s sukkah in Jonah 4:5 can be likened to a place of escape while he waited to see what God was going to do with the Ninevites. He was “getting away from it all.” Do you consider your Sukkah (your life in Yeshua) to be like Jonah’s sukkah, an “escape hatch” from a lost world that is simply awaiting judgment– a “Sukkah of Doom”, or is it a “Sukkah of Hope”?
Have you given up on the US political system or the US and/or world in general? Do you consider your life in Yeshua to be simply an escape hatch for when Father God calls you Home? Are you focused on your walk with Yeshua only as it benefits you (Sukkah of Doom)?
Or are you influencing your family, friends, and neighbors with a message of hope by your lifestyle and even direct witnessing to what He has done for you and can do for them (Sukkah of Hope)? (I readily admit that I often do not.)
Yeshua teaches us that our salvation isn’t only about escaping the judgment that is hanging over this world–a gate-pass into Heaven, so to speak. We must remember that God values people and counts each one as precious, even those who think He doesn’t exist, or those who think that He exists but live as if they wish He didn’t. Jesus instructs us to share not only God’s compassion for such folks but also His desire to gather them in as something precious, to harvest the bounty that belongs to Him.
Which sukkah do you live in?

Why all this talk about sukkahs? Because we are at the time of the Feast of Tabernacles on the traditional Jewish calendar. Sukkot started at sundown Sunday, Oct. 16 and runs through sundown Oct 23. Sukkot is one of God’s appointed feasts or times (notice that I said “God’s,” not “Jewish”). It is a joyous 8-day festival commemorating the forty-year period during which the children of Israel wondered in the desert, living in temporary shelters. It is also a harvest festival.
Our Savior celebrated all the feasts. We read about one such time in John 7 and 8 when He applied some of the traditional elements of the celebration to His own life. I chanced upon a good article about this event that also describes some of the celebration during Yeshua’s time and how Yeshua applied it to Himself. President Obama Did What? (OOPS – I got caught in a hoax)
I and quite a few others got caught by a hoax – and an old one at that!. This is not the first time the author has posted this article. Snopes.com and factcheck.com both point out that this “ABC News” article is a fake article by satirist Paul Horner. One of his fake news websites is abcnews.com.co (note the “.co”). This is not ABC News’ real website.
However, it was sort of fun to write my post and, to tell you the truth, IMNSHO (in my not so humble opinion) it is something that our illustrious President would do if he thought he could get away with it.
I decided to leave this on my blog, just for the heck of it. It is fairly easy for a hoax like this to work because of the way most of us feel about our government and their extensive overreach!
…and on a Sunday morning, no less — early in the morning when no one was watching! How can we allow this type of so-called Political Correctness to continue? This is a blatant disregard for everything the USA stands for! Fortunately, this doesn’t apply to private schools — unless they are foolish enough to take government funding. I’m not a lawyer, but I would think that this cannot prevent students, and others, from initiating recitation of the pledge under the banner of “student-led”, just as they are permitted to initiate prayer. It also doesn’t prevent on-duty personnel from reciting it “under their breath”. Frankly, I find it hard to believe that many will follow the ruling, except those who are to scared to stand up to our government.
Obama Signs Executive Order Banning The Pledge Of Allegiance In Schools Nationwide
WASHINGTON, D.C. (AP) — Early this morning, President Obama made what could very well prove to be the most controversial move of his presidency with the signing of Executive Order 13738, which revokes the federal government’s official recognition of the Pledge of Allegiance. Under the new order, it is now illegal for any federally funded agency to display the pledge or for any federal employee to recite, or encourage others to recite, the pledge while on duty. This law also applies to federal contractors and other institutions that receive federal funding such as public schools. Individuals who violate this order can face fines of up to $10,000 and up to one year in federal prison.

The Appointed Time of Sukkot
Sukkot, or the Festival of Booths, is one of God’s Appointed Times (Lev 23:33-35). This is not a “Jewish Feast” per se. It is God’s Feast, a time appointed by God. See Lev 23:2 and Lev 23:37. The following is a good article from the First Fruits of Zion blog regarding Yeshua’s attendance at the final Feast of Sukkot before His crucifixion and resurrection during Passover the following Spring.
Not Going to Sukkot?
Herod Antipas wanted Him arrested, and the Pharisees and Sadducees on the Sanhedrin in Jerusalem had also taken an interest in him. He knew that His life was at risk in the Galilee, how much more so in Judea and Jerusalem. For that reason, He avoided Judea and spent most of His time in the remote north, but He could not stay in the Galilee indefinitely. The three annual pilgrimage festivals necessitated trips to Jerusalem.
His brothers argued that the festival of Sukkot would provide the perfect opportunity for a grand debut. He could expect all of His followers from Galilee and Judea to gather for the festival in Jerusalem. If He was the Messiah, why not do some signs and wonders in the sight of all Israel?
For the last several years, Yeshua had conducted His miraculous ministry clandestinely. Rather than seeking recognition as a public figure, He warned those He healed to “tell no one.” He retreated from crowds and hushed the voices that sought to proclaim His identity. His brothers interpreted the secrecy as evidence that He must be less than He claimed to be. They suspected He simply wanted to extend the charade as long as He could.
Yeshua responded, “My time has not yet come …You go up to the feast. I am not going up to this feast, for my time has not yet fully come” (John 7:6-8). He told them, “Your time is always here. The world cannot hate you, but it hates me because I testify about it that its works are evil” (John 7:6-7). That is to say, “Anytime is fine for you to go to Jerusalem because you are not being hunted by the government for speaking out against injustice, corruption, and sin.”
On a deeper level, His reply implied that the right festival (appointed time) for Him to make a public claim had not yet arrived. He referred to the Passover (still six months away) when He intended to go public and accept the popular acclamation as King Messiah—King of the Jews—during His triumphal entry into the city. When that fateful Passover did arrive, He referred to it as “My time” (Matthew 26:18). In John 7, the time for that grand entry and the unveiling of His messianic identity had not yet arrived. He said, “My time has not yet come.”
The Master waited until after His brothers and the pilgrims traveling with them had set out. He acted as if He did not plan on attending the festival at all. When at last the way was clear, He and His disciples made a private pilgrimage. Arriving in Jerusalem, they kept a low profile for the first half of the eight-day festival. [John 17:10; 14]
Charter School Word of Caution
KNOW WHO OWNS AND OPERATES YOUR LOCAL CHARTER SCHOOL!
KNOW WHERE YOUR TAX DOLLARS ARE GOING!
Do you have a child in a charter school? Are you interested in sending your child to a charter school? Before you do so, carefully investigate the ownership. Dig deep, because all may not be as innocent as it appears.
Approximately 140 charter schools across the country are owned by Muhammad Fethullah Gülen. According to an article in the May/June 2016 issue of Israel My Glory magazine, which quotes an article by WND’s (World Net Daily) Leo Hohmann, Gülen is a Turkish Islamist with a reported goal of bringing Sharia law to America through “civilizational jihad–a form of nonviolent jihad focused on infiltrating and overcoming Western nations over time through immigration and exploitation of the civil liberties available in those nations.” Through these schools, he is collecting tens of millions in American tax dollars to fund his anti-American agenda.
By the way, the U.S. gave Gülen legal permanent resident status in 2008, and he is now eligible for citizenship.

So, if you have a student in a charter school, are considering enrolling your child in one, or know of someone who is, research the background throughly before enrolling.
Excessive teaching about the Islamic religion may be going on in your local non-charter public school as well. You may have heard of an incident at La Plata [public] High School in Charles County, at which students were allegedly made to profess the Muslim statement of faith and memorize the Five Pillars of Islam. According to the list, La Plata is not one of Gülen’s schools. This is actually more disconcerting. La Plata and the Maryland school system, are being sued in federal court regarding this practice. The suit also alleges that the school teaches that “…the Islamic religion is a fact while Christianity and Judaism are just beliefs.” Just one more reason to be alert to what your child is being taught at all levels of education!
